02/12/2018

On Saturday, February 10, Ten Waring middle school students along with Waring Art teacher KB Breiseth attended the AISNE Middle School Students of Color Conference at the Dana Hall School in Wellesley. It was a chance for students to be part of a larger community conversation about equal access to education and empowerment.

The conference keynote speakers were Director of Choral Music at the Dana Hall School, David Freeman Coleman, and award-winning author and professor Dr. Bettina Love. Students were also offered the chance to take part in workshops such as a hip hop dance class, the importance of race in our culture, what it’s like to work for the Celtics, and a Chinese New Year celebration and dumpling making class.
