
Waring's athletics program fosters the development of character and personal responsibility through sports. It promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, fitness, and individual mastery of athletic skills. As an integral part of Waring’s mission, athletics promotes the leadership and interpersonal skills necessary to a community built on respect, camaraderie, stewardship, sacrifice, discovery, and pride in individual accomplishment.
Students must participate in team sports throughout the academic year: soccer or cross country in the fall, basketball in the winter, and lacrosse or ultimate frisbee in the spring. The following sports and/or theater are also available to students who have met their sports requirements: theater in the fall; YMCA strength and conditioning, kickboxing, debate, and theater in the winter; as well as kickboxing and theater in the spring.
