The Waring School Parents' Group

Fostering a Strong Sense of Community

Enhancing the Student and Parent Experience

The Waring School Parent’s Group serves as a voice for the parent/guardian community of Waring School. It serves to enhance the overall student and parent experience by being a resource for communication and information in collaboration with the school. The group manages sub-groups and activities that engage families to create a strong, unified, inclusive school community.

Look for the dates on the school's Main Calendar. Details and updates will also be posted on the website and listed in the Waring Weekly email updates.

Volunteering

If you are interested in becoming more involved with the Parents' Group or helping out at school, please contact the Parent Group Co-Chairs listed above. Waring School relies on the generous efforts of many people and volunteering is just one way to help out! Whether it is once a week, once a month, or even just a couple of times a year, it is all hugely appreciated!

Help with Tutorial Service Project/Service Days
Waring faculty, staff, and parents partner regularly to support service learning and volunteer opportunities on campus during tutorial Fridays. These activities help connect our students to serving communities around and beyond Waring. partner organizations include My Brother's Table, Beverly Bootstraps, Lifebridge in Salem, and many more. In addition, Waring has sporadic "service days" during the year. Parents are sometimes welcome to participate in these service days by helping support activities.

Host an Activity for Your Group
Interested in bringing your child's group together after school? Consider hosting a game night, a movie night at school with snacks, a hike or another fun activity for them! These opportunities help build bonds and friendships outside of the normal school day.

Fundraise for Your Group's Trip
While the cost of group trips is built into the cost of tuition, fundraising to offset activities such as special dinners and other activities is helpful. Please contact the faculty or staff leading the trip and parent group leads prior to initiating fundraising to make sure that our collective fundraising activities are as coordinated as possible.

Speak at All School Meeting (ASM)
Interested in sharing your knowledge about your work, a local organization that serves communities in need, or another topic that you feel would be appropriate and of interest to 6th-12th graders? ASM is an excellent opportunities for this. Connect with Sarah Carlson-Lier to discuss the possibility of speaking at ASM.
