The Waring School Parents' Group

Fostering a Strong Sense of Community

Enhancing the Student and Parent Experience

The Waring School Parent’s Group serves as a voice for the parent/guardian community of Waring School. It serves to enhance the overall student and parent experience by being a resource for communication and information in collaboration with the school. The group manages sub-groups and activities that engage families to create a strong, unified, inclusive school community.

Parents' Group Coffees and Teas
Parents' Group hosts coffees and teas throughout the year. These events provide a time and place for parents to meet and discuss topics relevant to their children’s lives, and to learn more about the nuts and bolts of being a Waring parent. Look for the dates on the school's Main Calendar. Details and updates will also be posted on the website and listed in the Waring Weekly email updates.

Parent Education Speaker Series
The Waring community periodically welcomes speakers to Waring. They will present on relevant topics determined by the Waring parents, faculty and administration.

Great Gatherings
Great Gatherings are special events hosted by folks from the Waring community. They are an excellent chance to have fun, meet new people, build community, and try new things–all while supporting Waring. Click here to learn more.

Volunteering

If you are interested in becoming more involved with the Parents' Group or helping out at school, please contact the Parent Group Co-Chairs listed above. Waring School relies on the generous efforts of many people and volunteering is just one way to help out! Whether it is once a week, once a month, or even just a couple of times a year, it is all hugely appreciated!

Affinity Group Activities
Work with the DEIJA staff to host events that promote affinity groups and learning across the campus.

Community Service and Learning
Work with various faculty and staff to coordinate any needed volunteers to work with students on community service projects. Also coordinate speakers (2 x / year?) for community learning which may be in person or virtual.

Fund and Friend Raising Liaison
Work with various Advancement department staff to support large and small fundraising and friendraising events on campus such as parent coffees, Tea with Faculty, Great Gatherings, etc.

Campus Beautification

Work with various campus staff and student clubs to coordinate parent volunteers for larger campus fall and spring clean-up, planting, painting and other projects. Network within the community for campus improvement support such as landscaping or painting projects.
