Library Yankee Swap

01/5/2015

Just before winter break, the Waring library hosted a "yankee book swap" over lunch. Students and faculty participants each brought a book they had enjoyed and were ready to pass on to someone else in the community. After cookies, hot chocolate and homemade marshmallows, each participant got a turn to either open a wrapped book or "steal" a book from another player.

The most popular book, stolen 3 times, was Atonement by Ian MacEwan. After the official swap was complete, participants continued to trade books until each reader found a title that intrigued them. The swap was a lot of fun and may become an annual event.
