Class of 2021
  • Hometown: I’m from Swampscott, MA.
  • Time at Waring: I am a junior, and this is my fourth year at the school.
  • Favorite Class: Math
  • Favorite Waring experience: My favorite Waring memory is a specific day in math two years ago. Right after all the snow melted, we had class outside. We brought a portable whiteboard outside and sat in the new grass.
  • Why no grades: No grades works for me because looking at just a number doesn’t help you grow. Sure, you can increase the number, but it is much more helpful to read a paragraph or two specifically about how you function as a learner and how you can reach specific goals set by you and your teachers.
  • Favorite book and/or film: My favorite movie is Baby Driver. My favorite book is a play: Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf.
  • Why French: We all learn French here because it is a part of our community. If we all learned different languages, it would make it impossible to do things such as travel to French-speaking places, have meetings in all French, speak French to each other in between classes.
  • After-school activities: My after-school activity is Theater. I love it, and I participate in all three seasons.
  • Our community: In my opinion, our community is my favorite part about Waring. Not only does everyone know you, everyone cares about you, teachers and students alike.
