Cutting their Spring Break a bit short, the team of Jack Kelly and Tristan Horan attended the Massachusetts State Debate Tournament, held at Acton Boxborough Regional High School on Saturday, March 25. The tournament was open only to teams that had qualified, and 60 teams participated in Varsity Public Forum Debate. Waring came in 22nd, and Jack Kelly was recognized as 8th place speaker of the 120 debaters who competed.
Waring parent Max Kelly served as judge while Debate Coach Tim Averill served on the tabulation staff for the day. The tournament served as excellent practice for Jack and Tristan as they prepare for the National Debate Tournament in Birmingham, Alabama in June.
