Enhancing the Student and Parent Experience
The Waring School Parent’s Group serves as a voice for the parent/guardian community of Waring School. It serves to enhance the overall student and parent experience by being a resource for communication and information in collaboration with the school. The group manages sub-groups and activities that engage families to create a strong, unified, inclusive school community.
Class Representatives serve as liaisons between the parents in their child’s class and the school, help enhance the parent experience at Waring, and provide support for the event assigned to their child’s grade level. Every parent or guardian of a Waring student is an automatically a member of the Parents’ Group.
If you are interested in becoming more involved with the Parents’ Group or helping out at school, please contact the Parent Group Co-Chairs listed above. Waring School relies on the generous efforts of many people and volunteering is just one way to help out! Whether it is once a week, once a month, or even just a couple of times a year, it is all hugely appreciated!
Waring faculty, staff, and parents partner regularly to support service learning and volunteer opportunities on campus during tutorial Fridays. These activities help connect our students to serving communities around and beyond Waring. Partner organizations include My Brother’s Table, Beverly Bootstraps, Lifebridge in Salem, and many more. In addition, Waring has sporadic “service days” during the year. Parents are sometimes welcome to participate in these service days by helping support activities.
Interested in bringing your child’s group together after school? Consider hosting a game night, a movie night at school with snacks, a hike or another fun activity for them! These opportunities help build bonds and friendships outside of the normal school day.
Interested in sharing your knowledge about your work, a local organization that serves communities in need, or another topic that you feel would be appropriate and of interest to 6th-12th graders? ASM is an excellent opportunity for this. Connect with Sarah Carlson-Lier to discuss the possibility of speaking at ASM.
Work with the DEIJA staff to host events that promote affinity groups and learning across the campus.
