Arrival in France – Chambord Castle en route to Orléans

After a smooth trip to Paris, we were greeted by Béryl from La Terre des Langues at the airport and we headed south on the A10 from Paris to the Loire Valley.

A visit to le chateau de Chambord proved to be a perfect antidote to jetlag — and the sun replaced the morning clouds just as we arrived at the site.  Casey and Tim gave a quick overview of French history — from the Franks to François I, the builder of the French/Italian Renaissance marvel and the students enjoyed snacks and refreshments (a late lunch after our trip) before we headed into the chateau itself.
