Rocinante Privacy Policy

Rocinante is a scheduling application created by Waring School for its faculty and staff.

Information We Collect

Rocinante does not require an account, login, name, email address, password, or other personal information.

Waring School does not use Rocinante to collect, store, sell, share, or track personal data. The app contains no advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking software.

Faculty Initials and Schedule Information

Faculty initials entered into Rocinante are used only on the device to identify the corresponding teaching schedule. They are not transmitted to or retained by Waring School.

The academic schedule used by the app is included with the application or selected directly by the user.

Calendar Access

Rocinante requests access to the user’s calendars only so that the user can:

  • Select a destination calendar
  • Add or update requested schedule events
  • Remove events previously created by Rocinante
  • Export and share an .ics calendar file

Calendar information is processed on the device. Rocinante does not transmit calendar contents to Waring School or any external database.

The user controls whether calendar access is granted and may change that permission at any time through the device’s Settings application.

Public Waring Calendar

If the user chooses to include public Waring events, Rocinante retrieves information from Waring School’s publicly available calendar feed. As with any internet request, the service hosting that public feed may process standard technical information under its own privacy practices. Rocinante does not use this connection to transmit the user’s personal calendar information.

Data Retention

Because Waring School does not collect personal or calendar data through Rocinante, it does not retain such data.

Children’s Information

Rocinante is designed for Waring School faculty and staff and is not directed toward children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from students or children.

Changes to This Policy

Waring School may update this policy if Rocinante’s functionality or data practices change. Any revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
