Waring Alumni Finding Success at NCAA Level

10/7/2018

For a school that graduates only 26 students on average per year, Waring Athletics is still able to provide a platform for future collegiate sports success. Waring school varsity sports consist of soccer, cross country, basketball, and lacrosse. Each year our athletes are not only competitive inside of the conferences we play in, but our alumni are proving that they can make an impact at the collegiate level as well.

Former Waring soccer captains Kyle Patrick and Nick Wigglesworth are juniors at Hobart, competing in the Liberty League which Hobart won last year- giving them an automatic birth into the NCAA tournament where they lost in the final eight to eventual NCAA Champions Messiah College.

Two time Globe All Scholastic Ella Bellin is experiencing cross country as a freshman at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Former Boston Globe All-Scholastic Amanda Adams is a regular in the starting lineup for the William Smith soccer team.  The Herons are currently ranked seventh in the Nation.

Aidan and Jared Wood play soccer for Hamilton and Colby, respectively.  Aidan was named first team All-NESCAC as a sophomore while his brother Jared (Former Boston Globe All-Scholastic) is in his first year at Colby.

Tufts junior Audrey Buczko is competing in her first year on the rowing team. Audrey was a former star in the Waring performing arts program but has set her mind to exceling in other areas at the collegiate level.

Although alumna Emma Taylor is studying abroad in Bologna, Italy this fall, Emma has spent the last two seasons rowing for Mt. Holyoke.

Former Waring lacrosse captains and former Boston Globe All-Scholastics,  Jacob Vaneck and Nathaniel Lyman are in the middle of their fall ball season for New England College and Vassar lacrosse, respectively.

Mount Holyoke captain Michaela Butin is preparing for her final basketball season.

Former Boston Globe All-Scholastic Adele MacEwen is a staple in the lineup for Vassar College lacrosse.

Former lacrosse captain Emma Gramling will be going into her Junior season this spring at Mount Holyoke College.

Former Waring soccer, basketball, and lacrosse captain Sascha Denby is competing at Tufts for the club soccer team non-NCAA sanctioned.

Good luck this year, Waring Alumni!
