Fall Soccer Wrap Up

12/7/2015

The Waring Boys managed to win the Mass Bay Independent League, knocking off Newman in the final by a score of 3-1 after being down 1-0 at half time.

This year's team produced 5 MBIL All-Stars: Senior Strikers - Aidan Wood and Kyle Patrick, Senior Centerback - Nick Wigglesworth, Central Midfielder - Jacob Vaneck, and Junior Centerback - Mike Ballin.

Waring's Aidan Wood won MVP of the MBIL, where he was chosen as a Globe All-Scholastic.

Both Wood and Wigglesworth represented Waring in the Senior New England Prep School Soccer Association - East vs. West All-Star Game, where Wigglesworth dominated the middle of the park, assisting on the East's first goal. Wood was dangerous up top and managed to score the game winner for the East, just as he did as a Junior in last year's Junior NEPSSA All-Star Game. Needless to say, Waring soccer continues to pack a big punch for such a small school.

The girls' team was peppered with injuries throughout the season, where former Globe All-Scholastic and Junior captain Amanda Adams was lost to concussion mid-way through the campaign. The girls still managed to place Amanda Adams and Freshman Elizabeth Patrick on the IGC All-Star Team. The girls ended up in a hard fought battle for third place in the Independent Girls Conference.
