On Saturday, November 15, six Waring students were accepted to the MMEA Northeastern Districts Festival which will take place in January. Students include Reid Bradshaw '17 for tenor, Audrey Buczko '16 for alto, Tristan Horan '17 for bass, Mateo Lincoln '15 for bass, Brooks Richon '16 for violin (accepted as concertmaster), and Lucy Sinclair '17 for soprano.
Three of these students, Brooks Richon, Tristan Horan and Audrey Buczko, also received nominations for All-States and are eligible to audition for this next step.
This year there was only a 40% acceptance rate (overall) with some of the singers' acceptances being as low as 30% (Sopranos/Altos).
The last 2 years have seen great involvment from Waring students in Districts, including Audrey Buczko's appearance at All-Nationals in Nashville this October.
