At the AISNE Middle School Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Conference over the weekend, Waring students joined middle schoolers from across the state to converse, connect, and collaborate on issues of injustice.
They heard from Schuyler Bailar, the first trans athlete to compete in any sport on an NCAA D1 men’s team, and Kwame Alexander, a poet, educator, and award-winning New York Times Bestselling author, as well as attended workshops meant to arm participants with the knowledge and tools to help communities pursue diversity without divisiveness.
