Waring School students were honored to hear Le Ly Hayslip, author of "When Heaven and Earth Changed Places: A Vietnamese Woman's Journey from War to Peace", speak at All School Meeting on October 14th. Her message of taking personal ownership for creating a wise, compassionate, and peaceful world as future leaders inspired much discussion among students.
Her book was the basis of director Oliver Stone's film "Heaven and Earth." Ms. Hayslip has gone on to create two nonprofit foundations, East Meets West and Global Village, committed to helping the poor in Singapore, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
