Gallaudet Howard

Humanities Teacher

Meet Gallaudet:
Gallaudet teaches Fiction Writing and Health, which means she gets to spend time with students working on how to make stuff up and how to share the unvarnished truth, both. She holds an AB degree in English Literature from Harvard College, a MSN degree in Family Practice from Yale College, and a MFA degree in Creative Writing from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. Gallaudet also works as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the primary and urgent care departments of Lynn Community Health Center. She has worked in Kenya, Mali, India, and on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Her writing has been published in The Times of India, Alpinist, America, and Salon. In her downtime, she travels with her husband and two sons, runs very slowly, does karate and rock climbing, reads books, and works on her novel. She joined Waring in 2010.
